Residency Statement
This ACA residency is open to artists working in any (or all) media. Ideal candidates should posses the capacity to take advantage of three weeks of freedom in an unfamiliar environment. The structure will be flexible enough to accommodate different artists working methods, but will make time for individual, one-on-one critiques, as well as group discussions.
Application Requirements
Applicants are invited to submit a brief personal biography, statement about your work and a resume. While each artist accepted to ACA is encouraged to develop a personal practice, an openness to the group dynamic inherent in such a proposition is essential. Please submit examples of your work that reflect the projects you intend to pursue while in Florida. Images (jpegs) should be limited to thirty and moving image work to thirty minutes TRT (Mac viewable). You many also include links to your website if this will aid in understanding your art making.
FULL Scholarships to attend FREE are available for painters and sculptors (through The Joan Mitchell Foundation) and composers (through The Sally Mead Hands Foundation) for ALL accepted artists who submit ACA Financial Aid forms upon acceptance. Limited additional Financial Aid is available for writers through The Pabst Charitable Foundation for the Arts and the Atlantic Center for the Arts Advance an Artist Program. |
