Adult Arts & Crafts - Every Friday, 10 AM – 11 AM
Free and open to the public!
Join us at the  Babe James Community Center located at 201 N Myrtle Ave.,  NSB from 10 AM to 11 AM every Friday for a FREE Arts & Crafts class . The class open to the public and projects are geared towards adults. 

Gourd Painting WorkshopGourd Painting Workshop
April 24 and 25 (Tues. and Wed.), 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM
In this two day workshop you will learn how to transform a gourd into a work of Art! Gourd artist, Ed Harris, will teach the participants how to design, carve and paint a variety of gourds.  Harris’ artwork can be seen at Arts on Douglas. Each student will go home with a finished work of art. All gourds, materials and equipment will be provided. 
Advance registration required, space is limited.
Fee: $110 members, $130 nonmembers

Grampa's Girls by Lee Nesler, Etching, 5.5" x 7"Introduction to Printmaking with Master Printmaker Lee Nesler. May 8 – 9 (Tues. and Wed.), 10 AM - 4 PM
This 2-day workshop will include an overview of original prints created by masters throughout the history of art.  It will also take the “mystery” out of printmaking terms such as lithography, monotype, monoprint, intaglio, collagraph, and woodcut.  Nesler’s artwork can be seen at Arts on Douglas.  Each student will be provided materials to produce an original dry point, monotype and/or etching during the 2-day workshop. Lee Nesler has a solid academic art background that includes a BFA from USF and a MFA from the University of Southern California. Advance registration required, space is limited.
Fee: $165 for members, $185 for nonmembers, (materials included)

Jewelry Making for Beginners* with Mary Schimpff Webb May 4 – 25, 4 Fridays, 10 AM – 2 PMJewelry Making for Beginners* with Mary Schimpff Webb May 4 – 25, 4 Fridays, 10 AM – 2 PM
Learn to make your very own fabulous works of Wearable Art!  Acclaimed jewelry designer, Mary Schimpff Webb will present all the basic steps to create a piece of jewelry, beginning with designing all the way to finishing a completed piece. A variety of different jewelry making processes and techniques will be presented.  No experience necessary!  Webb’s artwork can be seen at Arts on Douglas. Advance registration required, space is limited.  *Advanced students interested in a class with Mary Schimpff Webb contact below.
Fee: $210 for members, $230 for non-members (materials fee not included)
