Studio/Workspace Options
The unique and inspiring facilities at Atlantic Center for the Arts, which have won prestigious architectural awards, provide over 12,000 square feet of space and resources. Tucked among the indigenous Florida jungle-like landscape, linked by elevated boardwalks, and constructed of wood, glass, metal, and concrete are discipline specific studio spaces, communal dining hall, meeting spaces, and private residences that create a hub of creative energy.
The Mark and Margerie Pabst Visitor Center & Gallery: A new 5,000 square foot space available in 2006 includes gallery space for cocktail receptions, a meeting room for up to 30, gift shop, and galley kitchen.

Wilkinson Library: The 875 square foot resource library, filled with books, CDs and videotapes, also houses computers, printers, audio/video playback equipment, hi-speed wireless internet, and a cozy loft reading room with magnificent views of the bay.

Hubbard Music Studio: The 1,100 square foot studio features acoustic-paneled and cedar walls that reach skyward, with a roof skylight to admit daylight. The studio contains a Steinway B grand piano, and a wide range of audio and digital recording equipment.

Roberson Dance Studio: The 2,600 square foot studio is encircled by a ring of frosted glass windows 15 feet above the sprung-wood floor, while a band of clear windows at floor level looks out onto the densely textured vegetation and sentient landscape.

Everbach Painting Studio: The 1,900 square foot space is fitted with large northern exposure windows allowing ideal natural light conditions. Various work tables, easels, and portable walls make the space extremely flexible and accommodating.

Pugh Sculpture Studio: The 1,200 square foot concrete space is symbolic of sculpture's earthy materials - metal, stone and clay. A long overhang on the studio patio shelters an outdoor work area that is linked to the indoor space via three 10' roll-up doors. Large glass windows serve to maximize the ambient northern light.

| Harris Theater: The dramatic "black box" space is functional for project development or group meetings, as well as an ideal performance space. Measuring 2,500 square feet, it can be manipulated to fit changing needs. Flexible configuration includes theater in the round, as well as traditional arrangements. It is equipped with adjustable lighting and sound systems, and video projection capability. > Details |

Digital Media Lab: This comfortable and efficient 600 square foot studio provides advanced digital media capabilities. The powerful Macintosh computers are available for video and audio editing, digital imaging, and web design and publishing. Hi-speed wireless internet access is also available.

Writer's Studio: This cozy 400 square foot annex space, bathed in natural light, includes work table and chairs, lounging furniture, a printer and a copier.

Urban Amphitheater: This informal meeting space is nestled between the Dining Hall and the Visitor Center. The expansive multi-level wood decking is often used for outdoor rehearsals, meetings and presentations.

Dining Hall: Also known as the Whatmore Commons, this 3,300 square foot space is the hub of activity during most retreats. It serves many functions - gala dinners, casual dining, large meetings, and general lounging - and is an enchanting space. An expansive main room detailed in cedar with 25 foot ceilings, it includes a wall of glass doors that open onto a private deck. An open loft space that contains computers with hi-speed and wireless internet is also perfect for quiet conversations. A chef or caterer can provide a variety of dining and meal options for large and small groups in the commercial-size kitchen.

Equipment: A variety of electronic and digital equipment is available. Presentation technology includes digital, overhead, and slide projectors, a large movie screen, and smaller slide screens. Studios, the dining hall and the 3 cottages offer high-speed wireless internet service. For more serious technology requirements, Atlantic Center's Digital Media Lab has multiple Apple G4 computers, photo and laser printers, as well as all the necessary programs to edit photos, web pages, movies and other digital media.
